Sodium Hydroxide Solution
The Sodium
Hydroxide solution is the standard liquid used in the testing for citrus
maturity. In order for a Sodium Hydroxide solution to work with the acid
test kit is must has a reading of .3125N. The Sodium Solution is supplied
in a four liter bottle. Generally speaking the tester will use up about
four times more sodium than phenolphthalein when performing the acid test.
