This tree guard gave Frostproof the reputation as the "Tree Saving Company." 's patented "heat retention" top maintains temperatures inside the wrap better than open style wraps. Many growers have taken advantage of this top by looping their micro-jet irrigation tubing inside the wrap and sticking the stake in to top. This gives the tree two advantages: first moves the irrigation spray up into the tree for cold protection and secondly takes advantage of the heat coming of the irrigation tubing for greater warmth. Growers using this style tree wrap reported to us greater tree growth with on during the winter months than with off.
