Frostproof.com - Shipping Options

Frostproof.com can ship to just about any address in the world. If the product is in stock we try and ship it out next day. Read about your many shipping options below

U.S. Shipping Information

  1. Federal Express (Fed-Ex) - Fed-Ex Residential Ground Service

Most of our products go via Fed-Ex because of the way that this company can track packages. It comes with an automatic $100.00 lost fee which protects us in case the package gets misplaced. Our shopping cart system has a method built in that will give you the total cost of shipping from our door to yours. Please note: Fed-Ex does not deliver to post office boxes. If you desire a delivery to post office box, please see below.

  2. Federal Express (Fed-Ex) - Fed-Ex Commercial Ground Service

Since most of our customers are commercial accounts we recommend that you choose this option...with a caution. Check with your local Fed-Ex driver or call your local Fed-Ex office and make sure they classify you as a commercial account.

If they do that's great, you will save about $1.00 on every shipment. If you are not, please don't check this option. We just get charged back the extra dollar and consequently we have to charge you the extra dollar +$3.00 processing fee. We hate to do that because we don't want to aggravate our customers but Fed-Ex has been very particular lately and that is why we spell it all out here.

  3. United Parcel Service (Fed-EX) - Priority 1 day & 2 day Service

The most expensive way to go but when "you have to have it", we have a means to "get it to you".

Because the size of the package can alter the rate drastically on next day and second day Fed-EX we have to quote this cost to you. There is no automatic system available to do that.

Before you choose this option you should know that if you live in Florida, almost all of the Fed-EX shipments are next day without having to pay for it. And in some isolated spots it is most likely 2nd day, again without having to pay for it.

  4. United States Post Office - Priority Mail

So far we have had great luck with this type of delivery because it is the fastest and the cheapest, once our packages go outside the state of Florida. If your package is five pounds or under, it will get to you anywhere within the continental U.S., within two to three days, including Saturday, for considerably less than Fed-EX.

The United States Post Office is taking great pride in this system. We put these products in bright red, white & blue packages that are supplied by the Post Office. They quickly stand out from the rest of the pack. More and more mail order houses are choosing this system because of the reliability and cost.

We include in the priority mail cost the tracking option which we put on every package just in case it gets lost. There is however, no insurance on this type of delivery like there is with Fed-EX.

  5. United States Post Office - Parcel Post

This is the slowest of all our shipping options and usually the least expensive. The closer you are to our location the more likely the transit times will match priority mail.

  6. United States Post Office - Replacement Parts

This shipping method is really something we made up ourselves. We go out and get a special padded envelope (which has a cost) and then ship the package via the parcel post system. The shipping costs listed on the package will sometimes differ from what our website charges simply because we have extra costs (ie the packaging and handling) over and above what the post office charges us. Also this type of shipping is limited to very small items that will fit in a package that is about eight inches long by four inches wide which is why we call it "replacement parts". Some other items such as gloves or things that will easily fold up can also go this way.

International Shipping Information

We would prefer to ship all our items via the post office to our international customers because the rates are rather reasonable relative to Fed-Ex, DHL & others. The problem is that in some countries the postal service is not all that reliable.

  1. United States Postal Service

Providing a package is not too large we can ship packages via the post office. The two choices are air mail which usually takes 4-7 days. The second choice is ground/sea. This choice can take up to 4-6 weeks. Air mail is generally twice as expensive as ground. A typical one pound package from Florida to Australia cost about $10.00. It can then be sent registered which gives added security for another $6.00. A ground package would be about $4.50 with also the option of sending it registered for another $6.00. In most countries this gives the sender a maximum of $42.50 indemnity if the package doesn't make it.

When one choses the option of "international shipments - request a quote" this is the option that we quote you on.

The downside to the postal service delivery is that there is no guarantee of shipment. Once a package leaves the United States borders there is no way to track a package and hence the user takes a risk with this shipping method. The good news on this type of shipping is that we haven't lost a package yet.

If you would like for me to just give you a quote on shipping just place the order as you normally would and choose international shipments. Ignore what the shipping costs are. Under special instructions ask me to email you a quote. I will email you back something within two days. I will not place the order until I have a confirmation from you on acceptance of the shipping costs.
