Horticultural / Residential
Applications
Soil
Moist captures and stores water that would normally percolate through
the soil. Soil Moist will reduce plant watering by 50%.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
For Potting:
- Use
the chart shown below. Mix the appropriate amount of SOIL MOIST with
the potting soil
- Place SOIL MOIST
evenly throughout the root zone. Do not place in top 2" of soil.
- After planting,
water liberally to allow the polymer to absorb the maximum amount of
water.
- Watering routines
should be normal for five to seven days. Reductions and watering rates
can then be established.
For Existing Pots:
- Gently
make holes in the soil with a pencil or similar object. The general
idea is to get near the plant roots. NOTE: The holes should be far enough
from the center of the plant as to not damage the roots.
- Make one hole
per inch of pot diameter. Example: Make six holes for a 6" pot.
- Add the proper
amount of SOIL MOIST, from the chart, by putting equal amounts into
the holes. Example: A 6" pot will only need ¾ tsp.

For Gardening and Outdoor
Use:
- New Plants
When transporting into a new container, use the application chart. Place
half the amount of SOIL MOIST by the roots and mix the balance with
backfill. Do not amend the top two inches of backfill.
- Gardening/Flower
Beds
There are two methods available when planting gardens and flower beds.
The first and most effective method is to sprinkle a small amount (1/4-tsp.)
in each hole where the plant will be placed. Water the plants liberally
to activate the polymer. The second method is to work in the appropriate
amount of SOIL MOIST into the soil at a depth of three to four inches.
Use one pound per 100 square feet. The application rate may be slightly
increased to 1 ½ pounds in sandy soil.
- Tree / Shrubs
Use one and a half to two ounce per one foot or rootball. Mix one half
the amount around the planting hole, mix the balance with the backfill.
Do not amend the top two inches of backfill with polymer. Water liberally.
Use three ounces per one foot of rootball in sandy soils. (A small disposable
coffee scoop is the equivalent to one ounce of SOIL MOIST).
